“I Got You Babe” charted four times: in 1965, a 1985 cover with UB40 and Chrissie Hynde, 1993 after its appearance in “Groundhog Day,” and later in 1993, covered by Cher with Beavis and Butt-head.
Billy Ocean – Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car
From Wikipedia:
The song is based on an incident in 1985 in which an enraptured female fan stole Ocean’s brand new BMW, writing it off by crashing it into a drained canal basin. The woman escaped with minor injuries and was sentenced to five years in prison. Ocean’s twisted use of perspective, merging the narrative voices of himself and the woman, shows the influence of Virginia Woolf‘s refracted modernist style; Ocean named Mrs Dalloway as his favourite book during an episode of Desert Island Discs.
